Glastonbury Music Festival
Michael Eavis cold called me in 2007 wanting to see the film and then once I had sent hom a copy he had called me back saying he wanted to play the film at Glastonbury Music Festival in the main Cinema in 2007 on the Saturday night, as part of his three documentaries that changed the world.
He does this each year and told me that the Friday and Saturday documentaries for that year would be John Pilger's War on Democracy and Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth accompanying our film on Sunday as part of that years trilogy.
When I asked him if he could get me a ticket to come and see the screening and if I had to sign a release and a contract he went apeshit at me and descended into a tirade calling me every name under the sun including c?*nt.
I explained the documentary cost a lot to make and if he could help me with some of the costs it would help me and that it would be good to come and see the screening. I remember him screaming, 'how do you expect me to get you a ticket to the festival when it is six weeks until it is on'. I responded, 'you run the festival Michael I'm sure it would not be to hard'.
The man who claims to support emerging talent told me to f*"k off and that as he already had my film he would play whether I liked it or not for free. He did exactly that and friends tell me there were a few thousand watching our film on the night.
He paid nothing. The man is a thief and there is no point going to his festival as you are highly likely to have a pint of piss thrown over you by some Eton yuppie. Michael Eavis is a multi millionaire who I presume became such by being a bully and an aggressive man. I have no doubt he has behaved this way to many people and only cares about himself.
I'm sure the Vice President of the United States Al Gore and Britain's most award winning Journalist John Pilger got paid for their films appearing. We did not. See the films listing on the Glastonbury Page Here
